The neighborhood does not only have new buildings, but old ones too that resist I don't know how. This house has been abandoned and two homeless live there.
Rua Basilio Telles, between Av José Malhoa e Av Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro.
That's a mansion for homeless people!! If it is abandoned, does the city claim property rights? And, if so, what will they do with it - sell it for taxes? Wait a minute, I have thirty-eight more questions. LOL
Ohhh, this is very complicated here. There are hundreds of abandoned houses in Lisbon, the one you se on the right is also one. The land worth fortunes and sometimes owners are waiting for the ouse to fall to sell the land because of bureaucracy.
Hi Uma, I'm so glad to have this chance to visit your blog after a few days. You have a nice neighborhood, it looks new and modern in compare to the small, narrow and quiet streets close to downtown where your favorite restauant is located.
I like these narrow stone-paved streets so much. We do not have such kind of streets in my city. The old part of Mashhad looks like different, although having similar narrow streets; but they are not paved with stone and the architecture of its old buidlings looks different. They are nice too.
Look at that man standing in fron of you in that picture (#147). He is curious about what you are doing.
Thanks for your nice pics. I enjoyed alot more some minutes.
Thank you Meead! I'm glad you back again. Portuguese sidewalks has a unique stile and are made of calcareous stones, I always fin them very fashinating and I shot them almost everyday, but I only posted two fotos of it until now: http://lisboa366.blogspot.com/search/label/Sidewalk
Jackie: There are lots of there abandoned buildings in Lisbon. There is a site about them wich is incomplete and you wont find these one.

That's such a striking building, what a shame it's been abandoned. I love those blue tiles above the windows/balcony.
